For instance you can keep to the stock A4988 Stepper Motor Drivers if you would like to save a little bit of money. You are able to choose any stepper motor drivers you wish for though. If you are planning on adding on upgrading your printer or would like it to be nearly silent while printing, I HIGHLY recommend making the upgrade to the MKS Gen L.
